Farm attack, elderly woman and worker assaulted, Louis Trichardt

Farm and Town Watch members received a call around 14:00 on 3 April 2018, that an elderly woman and her house worker were locked in a room while robbers were still in the house on a farm 5 km out of town on the Levubu road in the Vygeboom Drift, Louis Trichardt area.

Two suspects allegedly assaulted and threatened an elderly lady and house worker in the private home on the farm, but they managed to get away from the robbers and locked themselves in a room. The suspects were looking for money and weapons. Loose items and a 222 rifle were robbed, (fortunately the bridging block was not in the weapon).

Reaction Teams and Police were trying to follow up on the suspects, but because of dense bushes and difficult terrain, the suspects got away.

A suspect was later reported seen with a firearm in the area of a gravel road near Leeu street, but again could not be found. The community are requested to give info through on the group or phone the police station if they have info on the suspects. The victims sustained minor bruises but no serious injuries were reported.
