Shortly after 07:00 on the morning of 20 April 2020, a violent farm attack took place in Die Skuur, on the outskirts of Louis Trichardt, Limpopo province, South Africa. Mrs Nortje (82), who stays with her son (62) went out of her home to feed her farm animals. Four attackers, that were already inside the property, attacked Mrs Nortje and assaulted her whilst demanding money.
Mr Nortje was then also attacked. Both sustained several wounds that were inflicted with knives and an iron pipe and were both taken to hospital in a serious condition.
A safe was removed from the house as well as an unknown amount of cash. On 27 May 2019, they were also attacked by four suspects who pretended to be customers on the same farm. Louis Trichardt SAPS and all role players were very quickly on the scene after information about the attack was received.
Follow up operations for the suspects are being conducted.
