A farm attack took place on 28 January 2022, at 15:00, on a farm in Ohrigstad, north of Lydenburg in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
A man (68) was ambushed by five attackers when he arrived home, he was dragged into the home, assaulted and tied up. The man’s wife (58) and his mother-in-law (80) then arrived at the farm.
The woman were then also assaulted and tied up.
The attackers demanded money and firearms and assaulted the three victims while demanding access to the safe.
The attackers then raided the home and fled with a number of items in the victims Ford Ranger bakkie.
The victims managed to get free and raise the alarm. All role players responded and a look-out was posted for the vehicle.
The vehicle was later found abandoned near Burgersfort.
The police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
