A farm attack took place on 3 May 2021, at 17:30, in Deerpark, Tzaneen in the Limpopo province of South Africa. A well known farmer and his son were attacked on the road to their farm by a black male with an automatic rifle.

The farmer and his son were working on their farm when his son injured himself with an electric grinder. The pair rushed to their vehicle to head to the hospital in Tzaneen.

While driving down the road from their farm to the main road when they noticed a man crossing the dirt road. When he saw the vehicle approaching he ran into the bushes.

When they stopped to see what was going on shots rang out. The farmers son was hit in the hand and the farmer himself sustained injuries from shrapnel when one of the shots narrowly missed his head.

The farmers vehicle was riddled with bullet holes.

The attacker then fled deeper into the bushes. The police and local security and farm watch groups immediately activated and a manhunt ensued but there were no arrests.

The police are investigating the attack.
