The Police in Groblersdal have launched a manhunt for six armed suspects who attacked a farmer on a farm outside Groblersdal.

It is alleged that eight armed suspects entered Kameeldoring farm on 6 August at about 11:30. A 64 year old farmer was on his way to the house at the said farm and on his arrival he found the suspects in his garage who subsequently shot him dead and further assaulted his son before fleeing the scene. The Police were notified and reacted swiftly.

The preliminary investigations revealed a number of firearms and a white Toyota Etios belonging to the deceased were robbed and the car was later recovered abandoned at Loskop Shops.

Manhunt for these suspects was carried out until two suspects aged 25 and 31 were arrested with the help of neighborhood watch and farmers and the remaining six are still being followed.

During this arrest, the following were recovered. Two pistols, a silver grey Fortuner motor vehicle was recovered at Elensdoring which is about 20km from the crime scene

The recovered Fortuner is still being circulated to determine its origin.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
