A 48 year old security company boss based in Polokwane is expected to appear at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on 16 August 2019, following his arrest for corruption by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation unit on Thursday, 15 August 2019.

It is alleged that on the 28 July 2019, the suspect allegedly caught two minors who apparently stole from one of his client’s premises in Polokwane. Instead of calling the local police, he allegedly called their mother and demanded to be paid R5000 bribe in order to release them.

The matter was reported to the Hawks and a sting operation was conducted and he was arrested after accepting the R5000 that he had demanded.
