The South African Police Service in the Province is highly concerned about the continuous domestic related incidents which include murder, assault and malicious damage to property.

This concern is precipitated by incidents of kidnapping and murder which occurred in the Seshego Policing area outside Polokwane on 5 January 2018, at Ga-Legodi village in the Moletji area

It is alleged that a middle aged man from Senwabarwana area, held his 27 year old ex girlfriend hostage at gun point and traveled from Mmakgodu village towards Ga-Legodi village and along the way, he shot and killed her.

The Police were notified and a joint search operation ensued composed of different Police Units including the Saps Airwing, he was cornered but before he could be apprehended, he shot himself and he was then taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition under Police guard.

The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but the Police investigations will tell as they are still unfolding.

The suspect will appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on charges of kidnapping and murder as soon as he recovers from hospital.

Members of the community are once more advised to utilize their local professional services available to them in case of any conflict or differences rather than taking the lives of others.
