The South African Police Service in Malamulele outside Giyani, in the Vhembe District, are still continuing with the manhunt for a 63-year-old man who allegedly shot his 55-year-old wife, instantly killing her, on Saturday 6 February 2021 at Mbhalati village.

A quarrel reportedly ensued between the suspect and his second wife, Tsakani Joyce Maswanganyi at about 19:30. The suspect then produced his licensed firearm and shot the deceased several times.

The police were called and on arrival, the suspect had already fled from the scene. The firearm that was allegedly used in the murder, was found and confiscated.

The Preliminary police investigations revealed that the motive for the incident may be related to domestic violence.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned this incident and has since directed that the suspect be hunted down until he is brought to book.
