An Intelligence led joint operation comprised of the Louis Trichardt (Makhado) K9 Unit, Crime Intelligence and Detectives, led to a major breakthrough in arresting a 29 year old suspect at Tshikota location outside Makhado on Monday 27 May 2019. The arrest emanates from a house robbery which occurred during a farm attack incident outside Makhado along the Vivo road in the Soutpansberg area.

It is alleged that on Monday 27 May 2019, in the morning at about 10:30, an 81 year old woman and her 61 year old son, were attacked by five unknown armed suspects at this farm. During this incident, the suspects robbed the victims various items including a handbag with cash amount of money and air rifle before they fled the scene.

Both victims sustained serious injuries and they were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Police were notified, responded immediately and the tracks of these suspects were followed until one of them was arrested. The other suspects are still on the run but manhunt is still underway.

The suspect will appear before the Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court soon for charges of house robbery and two counts of attempted murder.

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects, should contact Lieutenant Colonel Tshililo Ndou at 082 565 7877 or the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest Police Station.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
