The South African Police Service in this Province is still concerned about the ongoing domestic related crimes especially contact crimes in some Clusters.

This concern follows two separate incidents which occurred in the Malipsdrift Policing area outside Polokwane and in the Motetema Policing area outside Groblersdal respectfully, where couples assaulted and killed each other.

At Ga-Mathabatha Village in the Malipsdrift Policing area, Charles Molewa aged 36 had a domestic dispute with his lover Mokgadi Molepo aged 30 and subsequent to that, he allegedly stabbed her with a sharp instrument to death and he was later found dead.

The motive behind this incident is still unknown.

Meanwhile at Tafelkop in the Motetema Policing area, Phillimon Maaba aged 53 allegedly had a domestic dispute with his wife aged 41 during which he struck her with a hard object and further stabbed her with a sharp object multiple times throughout the body. She survived the ordeal and is recuperating in hospital.

Shortly after the alleged dispute, the deceased’s house was engulfed in huge flames where it was completely burnt down with the man still inside.

The motive behind this dispute is still unknown.

The cause of the fire in this incident is still unknown however police investigations continue.

Members of the community are once more advised and encouraged to consult with the relevant local professionals and Authorities in case of any domestic related situation for intervention rather than harming each other.
