The Police in Ritavi outside Tzaneen have launched a massive manhunt for a group of armed suspects who attacked and robbed a cash in transit vehicle on the morning of 2 February 2018 at about 06:00.

It is alleged that a group of armed suspects attacked this vehicle along Khujwana and Lephaphane road.

This vehicle was en route to the social grants pay point at Lephepane village when the suspects shot at it several times and further blew it up with the explosives before they fled the scene with undisclosed amount of money and two firearms which they robbed from the security officials taking the Tzaneen and Lydenburg road towards Hoedspruit with two vehicles, which are both white and black Bmw’s.

There were no injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident.

The suspects in this matter are still unknown and there is no arrest.
