The Police in Giyani have yesterday, Friday 13 July 2018, intercepted a Trio crime syndicate who were on a tour of robbing a number of targeted businesses within the Giyani CBD and arrested two suspects aged 31 and 33.

The preliminary Police investigations have revealed that one of the arrested suspect, is a 33 year old Police Constable attached to Brits Police Station in the North West Province and residing in Sekororo area outside Tzaneen.

The duo together with their accomplices who evaded arrest, robbed a female University student, cash money and soon after that, they were cornered and nabbed before they could continue with their planned reign of terror in the area.

These suspects were immediately searched and during that process, a Police firearm with 15 live ammunition was recovered in the Police Constable’s possession. The other suspect aged 31, also alleged to be from Sekororo area, and was found in possession of three cell phones and R1400.00 cash which is believed to be the robbed money. A vehicle which the suspects were travelling in was also seized and it is still being circulated.

The duo will appear before the Giyani Magistrate Court soon.
