The police in Giyani have opened a case of murder following the discovery of a lifeless body of a woman in the nearby bushes next to Dengeza village on the morning of Saturday 3 July 2021, at about 10:00.

The body was reportedly found by women who were busy collecting firewood in the area. The police were then called and on arrival, the deceased was found in a pool of blood with an open wound on the head.

An Emergency response Unit was called and the woman was certified dead at the scene.

The woman was wearing a Green T-Shirt written “Bandela Burial society”, Blue skirt and Brown shoes.

The motive for the killing is not known at this stage but Gender Based Violence and/or domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered a full investigations into the incident with a view of speedily bringing the perpetrator(s) to book.

The police are appealing to anyone with information can lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) and who can assist in locating the family may contact Captain Khazamula Makhubele on 082 729 0327 or the Crime stop number 08600 10111.
