Police are conducting DNA analysis on two bodies discovered in Limpopo, suspected to be those of missing journalist Sibusiso Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli. The couple was reported missing in February, and their remains were found yesterday in Rustenburg after a suspect led authorities to the scene.
Four suspects, including one minor, have been arrested in connection with the case and are set to appear in the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court today. Charges of kidnapping and carjacking have already been filed, with murder charges likely to follow pending DNA confirmation.
National Police Commissioner confirmed that one of the suspects, an ex-employee of the couple, was linked to their missing vehicle. Human rights and press freedom groups had previously urged police to intensify the search.
Forensic teams collected the badly decomposed bodies late last night. Families of the missing couple, who were last seen on February 18, await official identification.
Updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
