ATM bombing and shootout, 1 suspect shot dead, Sekhukhune

The South African Police Service in Sekhukhune in Limpopo, activated a massive manhunt for a group of unknown heavily armed suspects who stormed into a filling station at Ga-Rantho Village, in the early hours of Thursday, 4 May 2023 and blasted an ATM.

According to information, a group of unknown men armed with firearms entered the garage and started shooting.

They proceeded to the ATMs, set their explosives and blasted one of the ATMs and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Police were summoned to the scene and on arrival, the suspects driving in a White Toyota Legend 45 and Blue VW Polo noticed the police and started shooting at them. The police retaliated and a cross fire ensued.

One of the suspects was shot and fatally wounded in the process while his accomplices managed to evade arrest.
