Arrested murder suspect linked to seven more cases, Tzaneen

A 26 year old suspect, who was wanted for murder that was recently committed in the Letsitele policing area, ended up being linked with seven more cases. Norris Ngobeni was arrested on Wednesday 5 June 2019, at about 15:00, in Tzaneen CBD while traveling in a Toyota Quantum.

The arrest follows after members of the Tzaneen Tracking Team operationalized when acting upon information received by the Cluster Commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula from community members.

Soon after his apprehension, the suspect was linked with the following cases:

Robbery committed in November 2018, another Robbery committed in May 2019, three cases of Assault GBH he allegedly committed in November 2018, burglary committed in May 2019 and another burglary committed in November 2018.

The suspect appeared in the Ritavi Magistrate’s Court on Friday 7 June 2019, on a charge of murder. The case has been postponed to 14 June 2019 for further police investigations.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended members of the Tracking Task Team for swiftly acting on information received. The General Concluded by thanking members of the community for their continued support in providing the police with valuable information.
