The relentless efforts by the South African Police Service in Limpopo in the fight against all categories of crimes, continue to produce positive and meaningful results.

This became evident when separate operations conducted by the Limpopo Highway Patrol Team (LHP), Crime Intelligence, the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and the Vehicle Investigation Unit (VCIU), arrested six suspects aged between 24 and 42 for a series of criminal activities including armed robberies, murder and theft of motor vehicle.

The Limpopo Highway Patrol Team, the Provincial Crime Intelligence and the Thohoyandou Crime Intelligence, conducted a special operation from the 23 November at 20:00 until 24 November 2020 afternoon in the Thohoyandou policing area under the Vhembe District which led to the apprehension of four suspects aged between 24 and 38 for Trio Crimes that occurred in and around the Thohoyandou and Malamulele policing areas.

Amongst the four arrested suspects, two of them, aged 30 and 38 were positively linked to 29 cases of armed robberies, murder, and burglary businesses.

In the process of this operation, the following items were recovered:

1 x 6 Channel signal jammer
2 x Black Hand gloves
4 x pairs of Toyota car keys
1 x gate remote control
1 x electric signal jammer charger
1 x Car signal jammer charger and 01 x Pellet gun.

Meanwhile, under the Waterberg District in the Lephalale policing area, the Lephalale Crime Intelligence and Lephalale Public Order Police Units, arrested a 42 year old man for dealing and possession of drugs yesterday on Tuesday, the 24 November 2020 at Onverwacht outside Lephalale.

During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of 3 x bags of cat drugs, 77 x bags of crystal meth drugs, cash amount of money, 2 x scale machine and smoking pipes.

Still under the Waterberg District, in the Modimolle policing area, members of the Vehicle Investigation Unit arrested one suspect for theft of motor vehicle and recovered a stolen truck abandoned after it was robbed from the owner at Hammanskraal in the Gauteng Province.

In another operation, conducted in this District, on the 24 November 2020, one suspect was arrested for theft of motor vehicle after he was found in possession of a Toyota Yaris which was found to be reported stolen in the Johannesburg Central Policing area in the Gauteng province.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended the Police for their continuous commitment in the fight against criminal activities across the Province.

The suspects will appear before different magistrate courts, soon.
