Another fisherman drowns, Mogol river, Lephalale

The police are investigating yet another case after the body of a man was recovered in the Mogol river a few kilometers outside Lephalale town on Sunday, 14 January 2018 around 12:30. An inquest docket has been opened.

It is alleged that the 64 year old man was fishing in the river with his friends, when his fishing line got stuck and he got inside the river in an attempt to retrieve it, but drowned.

A search operation by the rescue team immediately ensued where his body was recovered.

The deceased has been identified as Jonas Letswalo of Marapong village and police investigations continue.

The police in the province continue to caution the members of the community to be extremely careful when participating in different activities around rivers and dams following a number of incidents of drowning reported recently.
