7 Shacks burn down, 2 people die, Georges Valley, Tzaneen

The South African Police Service in Tzaneen are investigating a case of inquest following the death of two people who burnt beyond recognition in the early hours of 1 February 2020.

It is alleged that at about 01:30, at a farm within the Georges Valley area outside Tzaneen, the deceased were sitting inside their wooden shack around the fire and subsequently, their shack caught fire and the fire escalated to the other seven shacks which were totally gutted down with everything inside.

The police were summoned to the scene and reacted swiftly and they discovered two bodies burnt beyond recognition. The deceased are still unknown at this stage.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear at this stage but the ongoing Police investigations will tell.
