The South African Police Service condemns acts of mob attacks and killings which are still taking place in some Clusters throughout this Province with the strongest terms.

In the Gilead Policing area outside Mokopane, 57 suspects, 13 women and 42 men aged between 19 and 60 years were arrested for public violence, malicious damage to property and interference with members of the Police while performing their duties.

This arrests emanated from the incident where a group of community members from Ga-Chere village allegedly attacked and broke windows of the Bakone Tribal Authority Offices.

The motive behind this situation is believed to be originating from the allegations of dispute between the two villages of Ga-Chere and Ga-Mushi over the local land.

The suspects will appear before Gilead Periodical Court.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has warned all those members of the community who are still perpetrating this type of incidents to refrain and stop this tendency abruptly, not so, they will be dealt with mercilessly as they are busy interfering with the spirit of community Policing in this Province.
