Fifty six (56) goats and ten (10) sheep were in the early hours of Saturday 21 January 2023, recovered during the intelligence driven operation that was conducted in the Waterburg District Zone 4 from midnight.

Members of Mokopane Crime Intelligence and Tinmyne Crime Prevention Unit received information about the livestock that was kept at a residence in Ga-Madiba village under Mahwelereng policing precinct and immediately rushed to the premises.

Upon their arrival, they found a 36-year-old male who alleged that the livestock belongs to his brother who was not in the premises.

The occupant of the house was not arrested and the livestock was later impounded and taken to Mokopane SPCA for safekeeping.

Police further request anyone who has lost the livestock to avail themselves at the Mokopane SPCA for positive identification or contact the Investigating Officer Captain Lucky Ramashala on 082 371 8117 or crime stop number or nearest police station or My SAPS App.

Police investigations are continuing to determine the origin of the recovered livestock.
