The members of the Lebowakgomo Crime Intelligence Unit in collaboration with the Westenburg Detectives and Visible Policing Unit nabbed four male suspects during an intelligence driven operation that was conducted in the early hours of Saturday, 5 November 2022 in Westenburg policing area.

The suspects were arrested at Disteneng (New Pietersburg) outside Polokwane after police received a tip-off about the suspects who were allegedly in possession of stolen solar panels and immediately operationalised on the information.

Police pounced on the four suspects at a residential area where they were found in possession of four solar panels valued thousands of rands and for which the suspects failed to disclose their origin hence their immediate arrest.

The ages and Nationality of the suspects and the origin of the solar panels will be determined through further police investigations.

The suspects will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of possession of suspected stolen properties and further charges may be added as police investigations unfolds.

Police investigations are continuing.
