LIMPOPO – A 37-year-old Nigerian national is facing serious drug-related charges in Polokwane after an intelligence-driven police operation culminated in a high-speed chase and the seizure of approximately R50,000 worth of crystal meth and heroin.

On Monday, 14 September 2026, members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, in collaboration with Tzaneen Detectives, acted on credible intelligence regarding a 37-year-old Nigerian male suspect allegedly supplying narcotics in the Mankweng and Tzaneen precincts.

According to law enforcement officials, the intelligence indicated that the suspect frequently met with clients on Voortrekker Street in Polokwane and utilized a white Tata Indica motor vehicle to facilitate his operations. The 37-year-old male was immediately placed under arrest for dealing in and possession of illegal drugs. Representatives from the Provincial Organised Crime Unit confirmed that the suspect is scheduled to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
