3 men arrested for 22 house and armed robbery incidents, Giyani

In a concerted effort to deal with all categories of crimes head on throughout this Province, the Intelligence Led Joint Operations composed of various Police Units which was up and running until the morning of 5 February 2018.

Two hundred and thirty suspects aged between 19 and 48 years were arrested for various offences ranging from theft, burglary business and residential, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles and illegal firearm to illegal poaching.

In Rooiberg outside Bela-Bela, two suspects aged 23 and 32 years were arrested for possession of hippopotamus skin.

In Musina and Makhado Policing areas, four suspects aged between 23 and 31 years were arrested for possession of stolen motor vehicle which was reported stolen in Boksburg of the Gauteng Province and possession of firearms without license.

During these arrests, the following were recovered: a 303 rifle with silencer, 3 x 303 live rounds, 1 x axe and 1 x knife.

Meanwhile in Giyani ,three suspects aged between 20 and 31 years were arrested for twenty two house and armed robbery incidents which they committed in the Giyani, Malamulele and Mokwakwaila Policing areas between 2017 and 2018 and they were also connected to more other cases which they committed in the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Provinces.

The arrested suspects will appear before different Magistrate Courts throughout this Province soon including in the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Provinces.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
