Putting more efforts in dealing with the trio, contact and property crimes in this Province, the Intelligence led joined operations which are up and running, especially in the crime infested areas, are yielding positive results.
In the Maake Policing area outside Tzaneen, three suspects aged between 25 and 43 years were arrested and two cars were recovered being a Polo VW and a Toyota Fortuner after a group of armed suspects were intercepted while they were en route to go and commit a spate of business robberies in and around the area.
The police attempted to stop three cars at Julesburg but the occupants did not comply and continued driving. A motor vehicle chase subsequently ensued resulting in the suspects firing shots at the police.
The fleeing suspects then abandoned two vehicles and fled on foot. One vehicle, a VW Polo was cornered and recovered with occupants inside.
These suspects will appear before the Lenyenye Magistrate Court soon.
Police investigations are still continuing.
