3 799 persons and 968 vehicles searched, Polokwane

The Provincial Back to Basics Safer Festive Season Operation that was conducted in Polokwane on 28 December 2017, made significant impact on crime trends as no crime was reported in the City of Polokwane for the duration of the operation.

This operation, which was conducted in the form of roadblocks, cordon, stop and searches, was also visited by the National Commissioner of Police General Khehla Sitole who was accompanied by the Deputy National Commissioners and the Provincial management led by the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba.

A total of 3 799 persons and 968 vehicles were searched.

As the year 2017 nears the end, police operations are being intensified across the province to ensure the safety of all community members, and this will further be heightened during the impending celebrations for the dawn of the new year.
