As a continuous effort to ensure a safer festive season to our communities in this Province, the Festive Season joint operations composed of various Police Units, the Traffic Police and other role players continue.
In the Saamboubrug, Rakgoadi, Namakgale and Levubu policing areas, these operations were conducted through roadblocks and stop and searches with the following output:
215 suspects aged between 21 and 46 were arrested for various offences ranging from public drinking, illegal immigration, possession of dagga, Road Traffic Act offences, rape, house robbery, assault to murder.
Also 18 pieces of fireworks were confiscated, 1 motor vehicle was confiscated, 147 motor vehicles were searched and 572 people were searched.
The operations are still continuing.
