The Intelligent-Led-Joint-Clean Up-Operations which are up and running throughout the Province have started yielding positive results.
The operations are focusing on drug related substances and have so far strengthened the crime fighting machinery through the multi-disciplinary joint operations which are still unfolding in all clusters in the province.
Seventeen suspects aged between 25 and 47 were arrested in different clusters for possession of various drugs.
In Bela-Bela policing area, three suspects aged between 35 and 45 were arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. During the arrest, the following were seized:
Sixty sachets of “Nyaope” drugs with estimated street value of R3000,00
One stolen blue Toyota Corolla 16 valves GLS with registration number BWJ 528 L worth R15000,00
three small packages of Cat drug valued R600,00
Cash to the value of R2453,00
In Tzaneen Cluster, three suspects aged 28 and 47 were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and dagga. The following items were recovered during the arrest:
7.65 pistol, one magazine, one round of ammunition, 0,413kg of dagga with the street value of R3000.00, Crytstalmeth 59,059g at the value of R17 175
In Polokwane Cluster, a 28-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs worth R14 850.
The arrest led to the confiscation of 297 rock drugs and R1 302.00 cash.
Meanwhile in Groblersdal Cluster, one suspect aged 41 was arrested in Dennilton policing area for possession of Nyaope and Dagga. During the arrest 34 sachets of nyaope and dagga weighing 0,175g were recovered.
In Phalaborwa, Musina, Giyani, Hlanganani, Lephalale, Tubatse and Lebowakgomo policing areas, 8 suspects aged between 25- 42 were arrested in possession of drugs. The following were recovered:
R700 cash, dagga valued R11 132.60, two sachets of dagga valued R1390-10, nyaope valued R6500. 00
One magazine with three rounds of ammunition
137,22g dagga valued R41 400, and 20,07g Crystal meth valued at R6300.00
The arrested suspects are appearing in different Magistrates’ Courts throughout the Province.
These operations are ongoing and Police investigations are still continuing.
