The parliament’s land hearings that have been completed to test out the public’s feelings on expropriation without compensation show that 59% of the submissions are against the change of the country’s constitution.

Parliament instructed the commission to determine whether the amendment of Article 25 of the Constitution would be necessary.

About 149 000 submissions were made, of which 89 000 were against the amendment of the constitution.

It is now awaited with interest whether the government relies on real democracy and therefore will acknowledge the nearly 60% of the submissions or not.
