Some time early last year Front National predicted that 2018 will be the year in which the land issue will come forward as the main topic of discussion. In fact, on 13 May last year we posted an article in which we predicted that this would become the main issue around the 2019 election campaigns.

With the announcement of the BFLF on 19 February 2018, that they will also now take part in the election next year in order to strengthen the voices of the ANC and the EFF in Parliament, this prediction was proven to be accurate.

Undoubtedly the BLFL will not gain a huge number of seats in Parliament, but it will definitely add one or two. Taken into account that the ANC is short of 3 or 4% of the total vote to have a two thirds majority and thereby be in a position to change the constitution at will, even two seats in Parliament for BLFL is a matter of concern. This should not be underestimated.

The ANC, BLFL, PAC and EFF are already in favour of expropriation without compensation, with the ACDP also hinting in that direction and the DA under threat of the EFF to withdraw from the coalition in the Metro Councils if they oppose it.

Only two parties in Parliament clearly stated that they are against the policy – the FF Plus and Cope. And that is where the real concern now lies. Who is going to support those two parties? The whole idea of expropriation without compensation, and changing the constitution to facilitate that, will be a tough one to stop. When Ramaphosa and his government, with the PAC, EFF, BLFL at his side and the DA, ACDP standing idly by, starts changing the constitution at will, they will open a Pandora’s box of which the outcome will be disastrous and unimaginable.

Yes, we may argue that it is futile to even try and stop that. Such a spirit of defeatism is not acceptable to us. You don’t give up without even trying, even if only to go on record before the world and history that there WAS opposition, there IS a nation who said no against overwhelming odds and whose pride and conviction guided them to resist to the very last.

Give Front National your support. If the opposition can load Parliament with lots of groups, each adding their support to the ANC and thereby strengthening them in their evil ways….well, why then can we not do the same in opposition?
