Police trekked nearly 4km to recover the body of a murder victim who was stabbed repeatedly and then flung down a slope near KwaDengezi on Saturday.
It is understood that Police Search and Rescue Unit officers were called upon to assist with recovering the body.
The man had died as a result of his wounds and was found propped up against a rock, still clutching his jacket.
Police spokesperson major Thulani Zwane said that the man had been identified as 29-year-old Mandlenkosi Nhlapho, who was stabbed at or near Umlazi River.
“A case of murder was opened at KwaNdengezi police station and no arrest made,” he said.
