The Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is pleading for assistance from the community to solve rape cases. The people in the attached identikit will assist the FCS Unit detectives with the cases they are investigating.

It is alleged that on 9 July 2021 at about 18:00, a 23-year-old woman was waiting to cross the road on Canon gate by market when a white VW Polo stopped and told her that her transport has arrived. The victim was surprised as she did not arrange for transport.

The vehicle had three occupants of which one was carrying a firearm threatened her and instructed her to get inside the vehicle.

Due to fear the victim did so and the vehicle drove away to an unknown place where she was raped by two males.

She was robbed of her belongings such as cellphone and was thereafter dropped along the harbour.

The whereabouts of both suspects are unknown.

Anyone with information that will assist police to find the person in the attached identikit should contact the investigating officer Constable Dube on 072 200 7002 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
