On 5 April 2021, at 09:00, police officers from the Durban Central Field Unit were performing their duties along Russell Street when they spotted a woman being robbed at knifepoint.
The team alighted from their vehicle and pursued the suspect who fled upon police arrival. The police officers scaled a high fence and the suspect was subsequently apprehended.
The complainant’s cellphone and a knife was seized from the suspect.
The 18-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for robbery and for possession of a dangerous weapon.
He will appear in court soon.
