Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) are appealing to the members of the community for assistance in a case of rape they are investigating.

It is alleged that on 16 August 2017, a 24 year old woman was with her friends at a pub in Helen Joseph Road when her former boyfriend forced her into his vehicle and drove off.

When they reached his, home in S section, Umlazi, he allegedly raped her, assaulted and strangled her. She managed to escape and was allegedly assisted to report the incident to the police by the suspect’s relative.
