Wanted robbery suspect arrested in Esenembe

Esenembe robbery suspect.

ARREST – A 37 year old man being sought for a spate of armed robberies was arrested on Monday in a joint operation between members of Reaction Unit South Africa and members of the South African Police in Esenembe, Upper Tongaat.

The suspect and two accomplices are linked two various robberies in the area. On Saturday two farm labourers were held at gun point and robbed of two chain saws. The suspects then proceeded to a compound in the area were they committed a further three robberies.

During the course of yesterday information was received regarding the suspects location and in a joint operation with the Glendale Police, the suspect was arrested at a farm in the Esenembe area. A search of his room revealed several stolen cellphones and three live .303 rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was placed under arrest and is currently being linked to other robberies in the area.
