Umbilo hijackers arrested by K9 unit in Port Shepstone

Police officers from Port Shepstone Highway Patrol and K9 Unit arrested three men aged between 31 and 35 for possession of suspected stolen property. They are appearing today in the Ramsgate Magistrates Court.

Police spotted a vehicle with three occupants on the Ramsgate main road and instructed them to stop. When an investigation was conducted, it was discovered that the vehicle was hijacked from its owner at Umbilo this month. The suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and carjacking.

The suspects were immediately profiled and one of the suspects came positive as a wanted suspect for Brighton Beach theft, Umbilo theft out of motor vehicle and Montclair attempted theft of motor vehicle cases.

Another operation was conducted by Phoenix police within their policing area where 12 suspects aged between 18 and 60 were arrested for possession of drugs in Greenbury, Caneside Grove End and Rydalvale.

More than 100 pieces of cocaine and 85 capsules of heroin. They are appearing today in the Phoenix Magistrates Court.
