Two suspects arrested for farm attack in Mooi River
Two farm attackers arrested for attacking a couple on their farm in Mooi River.

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested two men who allegedly attack a couple on their farm in Mooi River.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said that on Saturday midnight, a farm owner and his wife were watching TV in their house when they were approached and robbed by three suspects.

“The couple were assaulted and robbed of their 9mm pistol. Is it alleged that during the robbery, one of the suspects was shot by the victim and sustained a gunshot wound and is under police guard in hospital.”

All three suspects fled the scene of foot and a case of house robbery was opened at Mooi River police station.

“On Sunday morning the police members started tracing the suspects and two suspects were arrested in the R103 road, Mooi River area, not far from the crime scene and one suspect is still at large and police are investigating,” said Zwane.

The two arrested suspects, one of whom was under police guard in hospital, are expected to appear in the Mooi River Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
