Police officers from the Ethekwini Inner South Cluster conducted operations and arrested suspects who were found with drugs in their possession as part of Operation Fiela.

Two suspects aged 25 and 34 were arrested at a service station near the N2 freeway after police received information with regards to the delivery of drugs. The suspects were found with 500 capsules of heroin with a street value of R10,000-00.

A firearm was also seized from the suspects and they were both taken to Newlands East police station. They were charged and they appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court for the possession of drugs.

Police continued to Welbedacht where they arrested a 28 year old suspect after he was found with 19 capsules of heroin. The suspect assaulted the police officers who had approached him to conduct a search on him. When the arrest was effected, the suspect offered cash to the police officers so that he can be released.

He was then taken to Chatsworth police station where he was charged for possession of drugs, assault on police and bribery.
