Two people were arrested in connection with arson attacks at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Pietermaritzburg campus, police said on Wednesday.
Police spokeswoman Brigadier Sally de Beer said that suspects were arrested on Tuesday night.
“We say people because we are still verifying whether they are in fact students.”
Comment was not immediately available from the university, but it is understood that two fires were started at the Malherbe Residence and at a science lecture hall.
The accused are expected to appear in court soon.
