It is alleged that on 14 December 2018, at 18:15, Isipingo police officers were patrolling the Isipingo CBD when they were stopped by members of the community. They pointed police to a man who was shot by two suspects. The police interviewed the victim who pointed out the two fleeing suspects. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Police gave chase and two suspects aged 24 and 29 years were placed under arrest. They were found in possession of an illegal firearm.
They are expected to appear in court on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 on charges of attempted murder, pointing of a firearm and illegal possession of a firearm.
