Two men were seriously injured yesterday morning after they tried to rob a man whose car broke down on the M7 in Pinetown KwaZulu-Natal.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, said, “The information available at this stage is that, it is alleged that this morning a complaint’s vehicle had a mechanical breakdown on the M7, while he was inspecting his vehicle he was approached by two unknown suspects.”
“At gunpoint the suspects robbed him of his wallet and cellphone. The victim managed to draw his firearm and fired shots in the direction of the suspects.
“Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital under police guard. A firearm was also recovered from the suspects.”
“A case of armed robbery will be opened for investigation.”
