Kwamashu police arrested a suspect aged 37 for possession of suspected stolen property.
It is alleged that at about 12:30, members received a complaint of a hijacking of a truck with sportswear goods and the tracking company indicated that it was driving along Sigananda road in E section Kwamashu.
On route members spotted a white Hyundai bakkie at Timoni road which was driving at a high speed, ejecting some boxes, a chase ensue and the vehicle was stopped.
Upon checking the vehicle, police recovered 13 boxes containing various sports wear takkies, socks, sneakers, arms and head bands all with brand name Puma.
A case of section 36 has been registered for investigation.
The suspect is expected to appear in Ntuzuma Magistrates’ Court.
