At 08H08 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N3 North bound near Ashburton.
Reports from the scene indicate that a Heavy motor vehicle and a Light delivery vehicle as well as a Light motor vehicle were involved in a collision.
A total of four people had sustained various injuries in the collision.
Three patients had been transported to hospital by various Ambulances services that were on scene and one patient declined ambulance transportation.
The North bound lane is completely closed to traffic and authorities have diverted traffic to an alternate route at the Umlaas off-ramp.
