Two 25 year old Mozambican nationals were held hostage for six hours by armed suspects at their home in Upper Tongaat, KZN on 25 June 2018.

At approximately 03:43 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by a member of public reporting the incident. Upon arrival the victims explained at approximately 21:00 last night six suspects had accosted the two men at their home.

Four of the suspects were armed with firearms and their accomplices were armed with pangas.

The victims were forced to lie on the floor while the suspects watched TV, consumed their food and relaxed in their home till 03:00 this morning. They armed men ransacked the home and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. They also loaded the victims Isuzu 250D bakkie with registration ND 253 493 with clothing, household items as well as stock belonging to their customers and fled with the vehicle.

The victims were not injured during the robbery.
