Blue Security armed response officers and the police arrested three suspects in suburbs South of Durban since yesterday.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said that, in the latest arrest this morning, police arrested a suspect in connection with a theft out of a motor vehicle in Wentworth. “Blue Security officers and the police embarked on a crime prevention operation in Wentworth where the team spotted the suspect with goods he had earlier stolen out of a motor vehicle. The police arrested the suspect and took him into custody. Goods recovered included a shirt, a bag and other valuables,” he said.

Mathios said an armed response officer arrested a suspect in Chatsworth in the early hours of this morning when he responded to a property after a resident pressed her panic alarm. “The resident pressed her panic alarm when she spotted a suspect attempting to jump into her premises. The suspect fled the scene when she pressed her panic alarm but our officer responded swiftly and managed to arrest the suspect,” Mathios said. The suspect was handed over to a member of the SAPS.

Our Amanzimtoti Tactical Community Officer, Triple M, arrested a suspect yesterday following a business burglary. “Our officer was alerted to the burglary that occurred at a premises monitored by another security firm and he later received information that led him to the suspect. He tracked down the suspect and found him in Beach Road. He arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Amanzimtoti SAPS,” he said. Stolen goods recovered included a duvet cover and a jacket.

Mathios commended the officers for their swift response and strong team work with the police. “We are committed to working closely with the police and local communities to fight crime and we trust that justice will be swiftly served in these cases,” he said.
