Three most wanted suspected criminals have been arrested in the Maphumulo area, north of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Saturday.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 27, allegedly committed a string of crimes in Kranskop, Maphumulo, KwaDukuza, and other areas, police said in a statement.

“They were linked to house robberies, hijackings, murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Umzinyathi [policing] cluster crime intelligence [officers], Kranskop detectives, and Maphumulo police embarked on a 12-hour operation in [the] Maphumulo area tracing these wanted suspects.”

The suspects were arrested at their homes in different areas. “Two of them were found in possession of two unlicensed 9mm pistols with ammunition.” They would appear in the Kranskop Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
