Three Highway housebreakers arrested in separate incidents

Blue Security

Blue Security armed response officers arrested three alleged Highway housebreakers at separate crime scenes in the area yesterday.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said an armed response officer swooped on the scene of an attempted housebreaking in Worlds View Road in Gillitts at around 1.20pm. “While the officer was busy inspecting the property he noticed that the garage roller door was slightly open. He investigated further and found the suspect hiding inside the garage,” Mathios said.

Mathios said the suspect had gained entry into the property by jumping over a back fence before forcing open the garage door.

Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene of the crime.

Mathios said two officers later responded to a housebreaking in progress in Glenugie Road in Pinetown at around 2.40pm where they arrested two suspects on the premises. “The suspects had broken into the garage and damaged a window and copper pipes on the property,” Mathios said.

Pinetown SAPS took over at the scene of the crime.
