Three suspects aged between 48 and 60 are appearing in the Chatsworth Magistrates Court for dealing in drugs. On 5 October 2018, a multi disciplinary operation which included the SAPS National Intervention Unit, K9 members and Metro Police led to the arrest of the three suspects and the seizure of a total of 2765 capsules of heroin, 143 mandrax tablets, 48 pieces of rock cocaine and R10 081-00 cash.
The suspects were taken to Chatsworth police station where they were charged for drug dealing. The total estimated value of recovered drugs is more than R100 000.
These operations will continue throughout the area to root out the proliferation of drugs in the area which contribute a lot to serious and violent crimes.
