At approximately 06h20 on Saturday, Marshall Security received an alarm activation at a church premises in Bruton Close, Somerset Park, north of Durban.
Armed reaction officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival, three suspects were found to be on the property in the act of stealing chairs. A foot chase ensued resulting in the arrest of one of the men.
The remaining two remain at large.
The man was arrested on site and handed over to the South African Police Services (SAPS) for further investigation and processing.
