A 32 year old man was arrested in Hammarsdale for possession of suspected stolen property. Members from the EThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster Crime Intelligence together with the Narcotics Team conducted an intelligence driven operation on Sunday, 18 March 2018 in the area following the allegations of theft of polypropylene polymer (a product used to make plastic chairs) from his company in Hammersdale.

During their investigation, the police stopped a truck in Green Road in the business park, upon searching it they found four bags weighing 1375 kg of polypropylene polymer worth more than R90 000-00.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrates’ Court soon.

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa commended the members for their work that led to the recovery and arrest of the suspect.
